3rd December 2002:
From Waste Paper News International - Friday 29th November 2002

"Bywaters has always been happy to support local schools and over the last 18 months have extended their involvement. They have been offering workshops to local schools to assist in raising environmental awareness as the importance is recognised of capturing the imagination and commitment of the younger generations.

For the "Recycling in Art Project", the company worked with four local schools: Churchfields Primary School, Redbridge; Maryland Primary School, Newham; St Mary's Primary School, Havering and St Antony's Primary School, Redbridge.

The competition was open to children aged 6 to 11 and the purpose of the competition was for children to design posters to encourage people to be responsible for the waste they produced. Over 200 entries in total were submitted and Bywaters were so impressed that they decided to feature the best 12 in their annual calendar, which is distributed to over 4,500 businesses in London.

Each school involved and the winning pupils will be receiving prizes."
