In June 2007 the 'waste team' comprising of Bywaters, White Rose Environmental and Waste Tracker were awarded the Chairman's Special Award at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Bywaters and White Rose Environmental have a successful history of collaboration with major NHS contracts, while Waste Tracker monitors NHS containers to ensure staff are putting the correct waste in the designated containers.
Bywaters was recognised for its contribution to ensuring that Guy's and St Thomas' remain at the forefront of new programmes and initiatives. Bywaters is helping Guy's and St Thomas' maximise their recycling with our unique Bycycler system. Bywaters rolled out the system at St Thomas' on 1st April 2007. The Bycycler system makes recycling easy and has increased the volumes of waste recycled at St Thomas' substantially. Guy's hospital is excited about adopting the Bycycler system shortly.
