Thursday 2nd April 2009:
The children and teachers from Horizon, a caring secondary school that caters for pupils with learning difficulties, visited Bywaters last week and were given an introduction to recycling in our dedicated environmental classroom. The children learned about the value of reduce, reuse, and recycle and sparked interesting debate with David Rumble, Projects Manager, who also gave them a filmed interview to complete their official role of ´press officers´ on the day.

The group was then taken on a guided tour of Bywaters state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility. They left at the end of the visit all smiles clutching their Bywaters notepads, pens and pencils (made from recycled materials of course). These types of visits are an integral part of pupils' learning programme, and help to enhance their social development. Bywaters is pleased to have the opportunity to support such initiatives in our local community. We look forward to seeing the official press release written by the children of Horizon School.
