5th April 2011:
Bywaters is delighted to have hosted the launch of Usborne's newest children's book 'See Inside Recycling and Rubbish', written by Alex Frith and illustrated by Peter Allen. Lifting the flaps of the book follows rubbish on a journey through London's largest undercover Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).

Guests at the launch had the opportunity to take a tour around the MRF, which was the inspiration for the recovery chapter of the book. Guests can see exactly what happens to their rubbish after they throw it away and how it is recycled.

Established in 1952, Bywaters is one of London and the South East's foremost Material Recovery Facility (MRF) operators and recycling companies. Beneath the surface of this very "real" operation is a commitment to zero waste , achieving sustainable practices and getting the recycling message out to the next generation.

It was with great pleasure that Bywaters welcomed 28 children from Nightingale Primary School, in Hackney, who talked us through their current recycling project before each pupil then received a copy of the book.

Bywaters are also donating sixty copies of 'See Inside Recycling and Rubbish' to schools in Hackney.
